Horses

The horses in Sasha’s team range in age and all competing at different levels. They are from Ireland, England, France and Holland and are all being finely tuned throughout the year to achieve their very best!

All Love Du Fenaud
All Love Du Fenaud

Precious, as he is affectionately known, is retired from top competitions now as he is 18 in 2006 and has done us very proud over the years. He has competed at European, World and Olympic level and has taken some top placings in his time. He has been well known for his flashy dressage and made in into the Irish record books in 2001 at the world games in Jerez (Spain) when he received three perfect “10’s”! Precious is the most affectionate horse we know. He just loves attention, and could be groomed, massaged and cuddled for hours. He is truly spoilt rotten, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. A very special friend indeed, and a once in a lifetime horse.

Look Smart

Look Sharp

Thomas is our cross country machine! He is quite easily the most talented cross country horse I have ever had the privilege of riding, and made the 2 Burghley’s we have gone round seem like a ride in the park. He is also very talented at dressage, but often lets his excitement get the better of him and can be a little tricky to persuade to focus on the big occasion. He is a very macho horse, and looks like a true athlete with his rippling muscles!

Smart Enough

Smart Enough

Zippy is a new addition to our yard. He is a little pocket rocket as he stands at just 15.2 hh. We are quite excited about him as we think he has what it takes to be a little champion. He seems to be talented in all 3 phases so far, and doesn’t have a weak link, so fingers crossed for an exciting future for him.

What Now

What Now

Jeremy is Zippy’s best friend and they travel everywhere together. Jeremy is such a lovely person too. He is a gentle giant and has the most beautiful slow-mo jumping style. He is what I call my 'double clear' horse, and also one I only have to do a 10 minute warm up on as his temperament is so quiet. He has already won a lot at 2 star and intermediate level, and got placed top ten in his first 3 star in France as an 8 yr old so watch this space.

Imagine Me

Guinness is a young horse just starting out on his career. Greg is riding him right now and has won some nice young event horse comps with him in 2005. He is a real genuine type and is as brave as they come. His big step in the dressage arena has hounded him a little, as it has been difficult for him to balance himself, so he will continue to do his homework and practise that. He should go novice in ’06.

Falco

Falco

Falco is our 21 yr old school master. He is as old as the hills and as fiesty as a four yr old. He loves doing all of his dressage tricks and is teaching Sasha so much about this sport. He is very mischievous in the competition arena and enjoys spooking and making Sasha look quite silly, but he is too adorable to be cross with and he simply makes us laugh. What a character.

Uthopia

Uthopia

This stunning 2001 Dutch stallion by Metall has been a part of our team since he was 4. He has won the 5 yr old International Dressage Championships in UK and was also graded the "Champion Stallion" in his Sports Horse stallion grading last winter. He is the most amazing mover and has such a gorgeous temperament. A real superstar for the future.

Lecantos

Lecantos

Lecantos (or Liquorice as he is known), arrived from Poland at the end of 2006. He is a pure dressage horse and looks as though he might have an exciting future ahead of him. He has had top rider Carl Hester on board training and competing him and already they have clocked up lots of wins at Grand Prix level in the 70%plus scores. Sasha hopes to take over the ride later and is enjoying training on him in preparation. He is a darling boy completely ruled by his stomach and gobbles bananas, kiwis and even oranges down in one. He thoroughly enjoys prizegivings where he laps up all of the praise and then promptly tries to remove the jockey during the lap of honour. Very cheeky.
